John Lynch's passion for fly fishing was forged in an unexpected place: working alongside veterans groups, where the sport became a powerful tool for helping combat PTSD. That experience shaped everything about how John guides today. Giving back — to veterans, to the fishing community, and to a sport that has given him so much — remains at the heart of his work on the water.

A certified EMT and member of Fly Fishers International (FFI), John brings both technical skill and a steady, safety-first approach to every trip. He's built relationships with respected brands in the industry, including Thomas & Thomas, Skwala, and Smith Optics, and stays current with the best gear and techniques the sport has to offer.

John guides walk-and-wade and float trips, running clients down the water in a Stealthcraft hard-bottom skiff or an Outcast raft, depending on conditions and the day's game plan. His home waters are the Farmington and Housatonic Rivers, though he's equally at home working still water. John also offers dedicated casting instruction, with access to private water where anglers can refine their skills in a controlled, pressure-free setting.
